| The lymphoma was
back.The remission didn't last as long
as we had hoped. On October 10, 2002, she started chemo again. Not the
same one that she had the first time because that wouldn't work
anymore. She was at the second line of treatment, the one they used to
use before something better came along. |

The chemo was working,
but not well enough. More
drastic measures were needed, and fortunately, they were available. She
was put on a combination of Rituxan and Zevalin. Rituxan, given by
infusion, is a drug, not chemo, so it doesn't have chemo's
side effects. The Zevalin, which
contains a radioactive isotope was given to her in 2 doses a week
apart, at Sloan Kettering
under very controlled conditions. Once more, she recovered from the treatments and worked the Rituxan infusions into her life. |
